Krčková, Johana ; Ivánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with methods of computer facial recognition, which is an important field in computer vision. The aim of the thesis is to compare and create a survey of the most well-known face recognition methods, with an emphasis on 2D picture-based methods. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the field of biometrics is first introduced and then the whole process of face recognition is described step by step. Recognition methods are then classified and the procedure, advantages and disadvantages are described for the most significant methods. The practical part of the paper focuses on testing three methods - Eigenfaces, Fisherfaces and LBPH on a small face database called Georgia Tech Face Database. The LBPH method achieved the highest success rate and the Fisherfaces method the lowest.
